Ass Effect

Finally got through Mass Effect yesterday and I have to say that Bioware continues to impress. The game starts out pretty dry, giving you only a little bit of action and a big city to explore early on but when the story picks up it certainly keeps going. The game has some nice visuals, even 2 years after release, and the FPS and RPG elements blend fairly well, even though the shooting part feels kinda rough in spots (especially the sniping). Loot is always a factor in any good RPG, and the main stuff in here are the guns and armor. I'm not sure if it was just me, but I didn't end up getting anything that great until almost end-game, but the enemies weren't that hard overall.

The game also introduces some stuff carried over from KOTOR, like lifting your enemies in air or throwing them across the room which can be fun but not necessary throughout the game on normal. With the sequel coming out soon, I'm glad I finally got this one out of the way so I can fully enjoy, and transfer my game save over to the second one. If you're into "Scyfy" and liked the KOTOR series, I would suggest getting this one, if you somehow missed it 2 years ago, and if you put it down because the beginning dragged on too long, just bite the bullet and get past it, it's worth it.

Games, Games, and Games!

Some serious gaming went down over the course of last week. I finally played GTA4's new DLC Gay Ballad of Tony, finished Uncharted 2, and picked up Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for the Wii. TGBOT was another nice additional story to the game, although paying roughly 20 bucks for each DLC feels like a little too much. I like the main character Louis more than I did Johnny Klebitz in the Lost and Damned, and the overall story is alot more fun and less serious too. You'll see a whole bunch of references from Niko's story in here, and there's even a mission where you can actually see/play near Niko during the Diamond fiasco mission. With the extra base jumping, helicopter flying and shooting, and dance club locations, it's definitely put some more GTA in GTA4 and worth the 20 bucks if you feel the need to dive into Liberty City again.

Silent Hill was more of an impulse buy, I saw some gameplay footage of the game and really liked the idea of having a game that profiles you psychologically and actually effect the outcome of the game. The game is short, but it's probably the only Silent Hill game I've really liked, and beat, which is weird cause I kinda hate the horror genre in games. I should probably note that there is absolutely no combat in the game, just escape sequences which were pretty exciting for the first half of the game. This isn't a good buy, but I'd definitely rent this game, whether you're into Silent Hill or not. It's nice to play something really different once in awhile.

Uncharted 2 is probably my pick for game of the year on PS3. It's got the perfect combination of action, cutscenes, and puzzles. The story isn't too bad and the voice work is top notch. Naughty Dog has really got the emotions on faces down and I'm excited to see what they make later on down the road. I hear the online mode is pretty good but I didn't really touch it so I can't comment. Overall this game implements crazy action sequences into crazy gameplay moments from start to finish.

Mahnee Mahnee Mahnee!

After about 20 hours I finally got through Assassin's Creed 2, and I have to say that the ending was probably the most bizarre thing I've seen as far as story and plot go in a long time. One thing's for sure, there's going to be a third and I hope it can wrap all this crazy train of a story up in a satisfying ending. The game's new setting seemed alot cooler in the screenshots but pretty much played out the same as Altair's Holy Land setting. The new weapons, including a hidden gun ala Desperado style, are fun to use and the animations for the fights are done pretty well, except for the occasional odd placement of weapons through the face or body sometimes.

The story mode was entertaining but the whole plot around Ezio was a little too self-centered compared to Altair's "yo go stab that dude, now" pacing which kinda threw off the whole Assassin's lineage thing. The game shouts out at you from the very beginning that you can do a whole bunch o' stuff this time around, but make no mistake, once you finish the actual story, you will find that most of the stuff left to do really has no point and eventually will get very repetitive and old pretty fast. All in all, I have to admit I enjoyed the game and would recommend it to anyone who liked the first one even just a little bit.

The best part about this game:

It's that time again

Just set up our Christmas tree yesterday and even pulled out ol Santy Claus, we're ready to do this thing! Since we haven't put up any footage in awhile, Jason was quick enough to grab some with our old Powershot, our FlipHD bit the dust a few months ago...and I really hate using Windows Movie Maker.

Want some of that boy?

Kirby Vacuums

"Hello, My name is Jason! I want to thank you so much for your time today and I'm going to do a great job on your carpet. Also, the machine I'm showing you is for sale."

So after my first day of actual work for Kirby Vacuums I started to feel those reviews made against the company over at www.consumeraffairs.com are true. And why wouldn't they be? During my training RJ showed me the reviews and I couldn't believe all the stuff people said. But was it true? They didn't run a background check on me, and everything sounded so good. The numbers they put on the white board were crazy and the way they taught us to present the Kirby Vacuum was so easy.

My friend Charles found this job on Craig's list, told us the numbers and all that good stuff. Anthony and I were so happy to finally nail a job, and oh how easy it was to work there. Anyways, I was told by the company that there would be people out there setting up appointments for us to do the demo and show the product. This was only half of the truth, the other half is that all of us have to go out and get appointments. All of us have to go door to door and ask if they want a complimentary carpet shampoo. No mention of the Kirby Vacuum at all, and why would we tell them if we wanted to get inside their house and sell them one?

Normally a person would say "HELL NO" if you asked them if they could show you an expensive vacuum. It's almost like Time-Share. You go on a beautiful vacation only to be interrupted by a salesman. We go and do a free carpet shampoo for you as long as you sit through our persuasion skills. It's disgusting, and I'm working for this company.

Well I have good news, I'm quitting. Sure, $400.00 a week at the minimum sounds damn good but that's just numbers. I can show you the numbers that would make you call me crazy, and yeah without 1st hand experience out on the field it's a damn good way to make money. Let's talk about my first day.

Since Kirby isn't a corporate business you don't get that health, dental, etc insurance. But that's not important if you can pull in $1,000.00-$1,500.00 a week. No, it's the fact that you only work for 8 hours a day. A normal day working for Kirby would start at 10:00AM for a prep talk that lasts to 12:00PM then you're out there on your feet going door to door asking if people want free shampooing. My first day ended at 9:00PM which ment that I was working for 11 hours.

Also let me tell you in order to get your minimum paycheck of $400.00 you need to do a total of 15 demos in a week. I did 2 and they drained the life out of me. You don't have a lunch break at all so you need to pack your lunch with you and after a block of "canvasing" you need to quickly eat your lunch.

Here's a fun fact, if you type in "Kirby Vacuums" in Google the third link will be consumer affairs where people tell you how Kirby really sells and shit.

I'd rather flip burgers and have those awkward moments with friends seeing me work instead of cheating people out of their money. Everyone has morals, and if you don't then you're a cold motherfucker that deserves no respect. And what I can tell from the experienced employees over at Kirby they do resemble assholes.

So my advice is never work for Kirby, and if one day someone comes to your door and tells you "Hi! My name is _____, Don't worry you don't have to buy anything. We're doing some work with your neighbors and what we're doing is a complimentary carpet shampooing! Free of charge! The catch is we can only do 1 room. So where in your house would be the most foot traffic? Living room, Kid's room, Stairs..." slam that fuckin door in their face.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/in_home/kirby.htm

HERE'S A QUOTE FROM A PERSON THAT WORKED FOR KIRBY:

"Jason of Hastings, NY August 26, 2009

I saw an add on craigslist saying Rug Shampooers needed! The pay was 1850 a month plus bonuses. Sounded like great money to me. I go to the interview and 15 mins later I am hired. They didnt even ask for id or do a background check. I was a bit put off, but I was working at a gas station and I was not making squat, so it sounded like a better offer.

How wrong I was. I found out (TA-DA!) that I would be selling kirby vacuums! Well after the 3 days of unpaid training ( I wont do there on how stupid it was), the whole sales pitch sounded easy. HAHAHA. I must have been the world's bigget fool. We would come in at 10 am, sit there and do nothing for an hour, sing stupid songs, Then drive an hour and a half to 2 hours to where ever we would be selling.

They said we could have people setting appointments for us. Not. We had to walk around neighborhoods knocking on doors all day trying to practically push our way into houses. You hvae to skip lunch half of the time, and you get to walk around in freezing weather knocking on doors.

The Management is a joke. They are allowed to talk to you however you want and sont have a problem with telling you that you are worthless. A manager and I almost got into a fistfight because he thought he could sit there and insult me just because I didnt get into a house. Everyone is the office is either a felon, druggie, or both. The majority of the people you work with are sleeping with each other.

I worked for these for a month and a half and I never even saw the 1850 I was promised. The owner will do whatever he can to make sure he does not have to pay you. I posted an ad on craigslist, and [the owner] was texting my cellphone saying he was going to put me in jail for slander. I told him to stop and he continued to harass me. I am still trying to catch up on all the bills I have because of these scam artists. If you see any add like that on craigslist, avoid it. IF you got to a job interview and they tell you it has ANYTHING to do with Kirby, run out the door like your pants are on fire. IF you are in liverpool, this is the Address for Lamaan Hill's scam of a company: 900 Old Liverpool Rd # 3 Liverpool, NY 13088-8538 (315) 451-6300 GO there and tell him what a scam artist he is. Get him out of our city!"

Medal of Honor, without Nazis?!

EA has finally decided to step out of their WW2 comfort zone and head in a new direction after announcing their new Medal of Honor game, "Medal of Honor". What better time to capitalize off of Modern Warfare 2's success? To be honest though, I think everyone's gotten enough revenge on those Nazi bastards as it is.

Not too much info has been given about the game other than it's going to be set in modern day Afghanistan and you'll be playing as part of a Top Tier 1 unit (Captain America over here, best of the best of the best, sir!), so expect lots of modern day weapons blowing up not so modern day stuff, and a whole crap load of man beards. As far as the game goes, if EA plays their cards straight, they actually might have a better opportunity to get something done right that MW2 failed to nail, actual dedicated multiplayer servers and size. Like Captain Planet always said, the power is yours.

The power is yours.

Triple X-Muchos-MAS!!!!!

Thought I'd go ahead and post an update on here since it's been a good while since the last time I actually posted anything worth reading. My new job's been a little rough on me since I got back from training two weeks ago, I've been pretty much sitting on my ass letting movies and T.V. spoon feed me my entertainment instead of actually engaging in some good ol' gaming. With that said however, I did manage to pickup some of the games I missed while I was away and have been slowly digging into them, man I miss those 12 hour + days of straight BF2, I'm turning into what I thought I'd never be...somewhat of an adult.

As usual, I'm planning up stuff for this old dustbowl of a blog, only time will tell if it'll go through, honestly though, I'll try harder this time. In the meantime, I hope all of you guys had a good Thanksgiving and stuff. We didn't cook anything this year (again) but the trip to the Home Town Buffet wasn't bad, unlike the first year (dry turkey FTL), I do kinda miss having some of the leftovers to pick through but who am I kidding, I hardly eat at home anymore. Until next time, thanks for still trucking through here. I'll try to keep this place updated a little more, happy holidays fellas.

RIP Pandemic

Pandemic, responsible for Mercs 1 & 2, Full Spectrum Warrior 1 & 2, were recently laid off after finishing their last title The Saboteur for EA after sticking around for about a decade. Although I never really got into many of their games, much respect for going against the grain with FSW series and the loveable Mercs games. R.I.P. my homies.

Ay caramba

I figured i'd try a local mexican restaraunt just to see what they had to offer up here and about 3 hours and counting I'm seriously regretting I had done so. That food not only sucked but messed me up. I can't believe they can call some ground beef wrapped in a tortilla a burrito. That enchilada was essentially the same except they put green sauce on it instead. And they had mexican music and workers running about, the shame. Man that food sucked...

Please Pray for Apollo

Apollo has Parvo. Parvo is a serious canine desease that can never be cured. It's possible for a canine to survive but it's a slight chance they will. You can learn more here at this site:

http://www.workingdogs.com/parvofaq.htm

He first showed the symptoms of Parvo on Saturday when he vomited. My parents took Apollo to the veterinarian where they discovered his illness. We put him upstairs secluded from the other dogs and I plan on spending the night right next to him in the bathroom. Please pray for Apollo.

Ruh Roh, there's a Mormon outside!

Halloween, another of my favorite holidays. Halloween would be my number 3, Thanksgiving is my favorite fyi. It was a fun day, although last year was better. The night started off with some kids ringing my doorbell and asked me to help them with their scavenger hunt. I had to dance and sing, along with giving them dried beans and green crayons. Oh the spirit!

A night out ringing people's doorbells and continuous "I know! You're a NERD!" shouts I ended the night with a movie and some IASIP, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, at Anthony's until the clock struck 1:00AM. I love Halloween but I can feel the spirit of the holiday dieing. I need more candy.

I feel like I just commited a deadly sin right now. Chili cheese spaghetti. Is this even legal? And also, I guess people don't walk in this city cause there ain't no freakin sidewalks. Gonna check out the gamestop here and see if I don't get harrassed while doing so.

Day 3

Just figured out we have a free shuttle service so I ventured out tonight to the local Chipotle over here. I have to say, this one ain't too bad, the salsa was chunky and the burrito had more of a pinto bean flavor which was kinda new but tasty too. The classes go by so slow compared to when I was working, but we get free breakfast, lunch, and dinner so who am I to complain, I swear I think I'm gonna put on like 20lbs while I'm here. I think I'm the youngest guy here so its kinda awkward, but to be honest id rather keep to myself while I'm here and enjoy the food and a few movies while I wait it out. Dragon age comes out next week so I plan on picking that up after class. Still don't have a clue what to do this weekend but I'm sure ill think of something.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

As october comes to a close I'm starting to miss my 360 with dj hero and forza 3 dropping today. I still don't know what's going to happen to my MW2 reservation either, oh well, ill just have to take care of it when I get back.

Ohio is very colorful and this place has a weird city layout since its surrounded by like 4 freeways. Mornings are much colder and darker too, the sun doesn't creep up until about 8 in the morning, but I guess that'll change nextweek with the time change. The free wifi at the hotel I'm in sucks, its filtered to hell so I can't visit any streaming sites or my fav giantbomb.com , I can't even connect to steam.

Oh well, I plan on walking around a bit more once it stops raining, until next time...

Day 1

Well this will be my home for about a month, things to do today:

Try out the local chipotle
Check for an electronics store

Sunday, October 25, 2009

And so it begins...

My new job is flying me out to Ohio today for a 4 week training course. This is pretty much my first time flying, let alone being away from home for a month on my own. I plan to update the blog daily with pics or footy of my 4 week adventure. So far, so good. Next stop, Texas.

Sunday Shmonday

As usual, things move fast around here. I picked up Uncharted 2 earlier this week and I have to say that I am enjoying the game, probably not as much as others are, but it is a really solid action title, Naughty Dog should totally make a James Bond game, they got the whole cinematic action gameplay thing down pretty good. I'm very much looking forward to the upcoming Borderlands release on Tuesday, and Dragon Age & Forza 3 next month, not to mention Modern Warfare 2. So many games, so very little time :( . As usual, we'll probably be streaming these games as soon as we get our hands on 'em so be sure to keep an eye out on our justin.tv channel. Here's to next week!

Demon's Souls will f*ck you up.

Now that we're getting closer to the holiday season, we can finally play some new games around here. Demon's Souls for the PS3 kinda took us by surprise, but the game is fun in it's own, hardcore kind of way. Not for the feint of heart, this game will chew up lesser skilled players and only the patient will be able to stomach the pain of losing absolutely everything when you die, and have to restart the level over, and over again.

Being that Atlus developed this game, it's kinda off the walls crazy with a strange story, insane bosses, and a weird "soul" based system for leveling, items, weapons, and armor, but it all comes together pretty nicely. The major thing about this game is the feeling of accomplishment of actually gaining a "level" since any enemy in the game can kill you within a couple of hits. If you're into RPG's and are into one-shot kill kinda games, you might want to try this one out.

Happy Columbus Day

Mark of Legend

Got a PC Club build in today, its weird how they just picked up and left the AV entirely, are we not that techy around here for them?

New MW2 Trailer Worth Seeing

I hate how "sequels" for nex-gen games usually recycle the same game engine/properties as the first title. Well mainly Ubisoft stuff. So it's weird for me to be just as excited as the first release of Modern Warfare as I am with Modern Warfare 2. This trailer shows off more reasons why IW should make more FPS games (and hell, maybe something along the lines of Splinter Cell or MGS). And yes that's the mother effin' White House as a battlefield in the last part of the trailer.

Remembering A Fallen Hero...

PC GAMING IS DEAD. Or is it? Recent studies have shown that PC gaming is dead. A group of staticians at MIT went about in.....WTF am I talking about here? This is all BS. No one studied the death of PC games. Wanna know why?! Cuz no ones cares. In the past week i have come to the "shocking" conclusion that PC gaming is dead. I payed a visit to the local game retailer and found that the PC section is smaller than the used SNES peripheral section, with such games as...take a guess...World Of Warcraft. Dont get me wrong, i loves me some WoW, but im jumping to the conclusion that MMO's are what majority "PC" gamers play. What puts the nail in the coffin is this. I attend Devry University, a mainly tech focused school. Of course theres going to be a "Gamers Club". I decided to pop my head in and see if i could possiblly squirt off a few head shots before going home. To my surprise, not a single PC, let alone Mac, was in the so called game room, just the 3 main consoles. I was greatly disappointed. Its a sad day for PC gaming, with tech on the rise and some pretty cool PC games coming out, people are focusing on console games. I guess i have to spend the rest of my class listening to the announcer in Halo going "Killing Spree"....and DONT get me started on table top games. I feel bad for them Parker Brothers.

Bad Company 2 is so BAD!

With MW2 coming out in November, it's kinda of overshadowing some other potential shooters that look like they might be fun. I've already given some attention to Operation Flashpoint 2 which is dropping in October which looks to be like a fun open battlefield type of game but the masters of huge battlefield action DICE have released some multiplayer footy of upcoming Bad Company 2 which is looking to be amazing!

Its amazing how good they make these games look on an aging console, too bad its not for PC. I never got into Bad Company cause, well, I never really played FPS online w/ a console but this time I might give it a shot, it's not like there's a nice selection of FPS coming out for PC anytime soon. Here's to hoping BF3 comes out next year!

Blast from the Past!

Decided to post my ancient Senior Project Video. I don't know what's aged worse, me or my first PC build. Geez, the specs on that rig were:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.67GHz CPU
512MB DDR400
MSI or Biostar budget board
GeForce Ti4200 128MB
Pair of Optical drives, floppy, 40GB HDD and a huge ass 17" CRT.

Boy could it run CS, DOD, and MOHAA. Oh and of course I forgot to buy necessary cables and even the OS. I had to load a copy of Win 98 for about a week until I had enough for a legit copy of XP. Good times, now wtf happened in-between now and then!

Saturday...?

A flurry of console news came out this week in preparation for some Christmas time madness. MS is releasing 250GB HD 360's in a bundled Modern Warfare 2 or Forza 3 pack for $399 and the Wii has dropped in line at $199. I remember paying $500 for an Elite (which has died on me 3 times compared to my 1st gen 360 which is still rock solid going on 3 years now...), so to those who were looking to upgrade to an HDMI 360, if you dont somehow have one yet, this would be a pretty good option. Although I don't really see the need of having a 250GB HD, wtf do people do, download absolutely everything from Live and store their music on it too? Oh, and I can't believe MS didn't package a 250GB w/ their ODST bundle, I guess they have to get rid of all those 120GB Elite's somehow right?

B to the Z

I've been so busy, no joke/lie. For the past 4 weeks or so people have been pouring into the little PC shop I work in, making everyday a grind. Although it's got me working pretty much non-stop all day, I can' say that I'm not enjoying the rush of fixing PC's one after another, it makes the day go by so fast and I enjoy my job. Jason and I have also revived our Justin.tv channel somewhat as you guys might've noticed from the previous blog posts, we've hit our first landmark badge of having 250+ fans, the MGS-a-thon was our first marathon and hopefully not the last, but it does take a toll on the body/mind playing nonstop like that.

In other happenings, I finally beat FF7 last week and feel like I can finally tuck that game in it's corner without any regrets. As far as new games go, we're still waiting for the NVG's, I mean Modern Warfare 2 to drop. I've been eyeing Operation Flashpoint 2 but to be honest I haven't played on my PC in over two weeks so... Other than that, keep an eye on our Justin.tv channel, we're usually casting prett much everyday now. Im going through FF8 while Jason is playing the classic Earthbound whenever he's not on FFXI.

GOAL ACCOMPLISHED and then some

We succeeded in obtaining the 250 favorited badge. The marathon RJ and I held, Metal Gear Solid Series 1-4, was a big hit. We gained many favorites, many friends, many mods, and reached the number 1 spot under the Gaming tab. Fuck yes.

The marathon was nonstop, RJ and I did shifts. The marathon started on the 11th, Friday, at 5:00PM PST and ended on the 14th, Monday, at 5:00AM PST.

250+ Fans Here We Come >(

We're on our way to 250+ fans on Justin.tv! Now is not the time to celebrate because we still need more to hit that mark and get our badge. Last night we had 149 fans, we gained around 5 new fans from RJ's playthrough on FFVII. I stayed up the whole night doing my 1st playthrough with Resident Evil 1. We averaged at 50 viewers and were on the third spot in the first page under GAMING. I still haven't beaten the game but I plan to end it tonight. I checked our fan number and HOLY SHIT it has leaped up a great amount. We now have 174 fans!

Anyways, come join us at Justin.tv and watch us play whatever. By the way Resident Evil isn't scary. DONT FORGET TO FAV! >(

halo would be a pretty dope movie

just watch this live action trailer for the new halo3 odst game

Jason's Nightmare

So today I woke up almost falling off the couch from an INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE nightmare. It's weird because I haven't had a nightmare, to my knowledge, in a very long time. Also being that it was so scary to make me jump.

Anyways the dream started off with me being at a water theme park, shit was siiiiick! The park had a long wild river where you just ride the current without any tubes or safety equipment. On the walls were plasma screens playing something but I didn't take a look, or forgot. After the crazy fantastic ride I walked around the exit till somehow I wandered into and through bushes until I came upon a bare spot surrounded with bushes. I then noticed the place was filled with snakes, and my worst fear happens to be getting bitten by a poisonous snake, with no way out. There was a tree next to me that also had snakes in it hanging from the branches so I layed on the ground. SUDDENLY! A snake dropped from the tree and fell next to me and slithered its way onto my back. I was stone scared, I tried to calm my breathing and stay as silent as I could. I had thought it bit me already but I didn't feel anything and I prayed that if it did I would die a painless death. So there I waited to die, literally, until I heard a snap and I thought it was a person so I bolted up. This is when I woke up, I bolted up through my nightmare into the real world. I sat there and realized it was a dream. Then I said "Shit..."

THE END

I'm not superstitious so I don't think the nightmare means anything, and all I ate late last night was half a bag of gummie bears so I'm not sure that caused it. I guess it's just because I hadn't had a scary dream in a very long time.

PS3 Fatboy Goes Slim

So the PS3 Slim was officially announced today with all the new features of being slimmer than the George Foreman PS3. The new model will ship with a 120GB hard drive, have no backwards compatibility, and users won't have the ability to install another OS on their PS3 (at least for the time being). The PS3 slim will come with a Dualshock 3 controller and retail at $299.

Even though MS didn't support all of their Xbox titles to be playable on the 360, every single model they have released still supports a list of old Xbox titles. Why Sony only released the 60GB model with backwards compatibility, I'll never know. But you'd think they would give you more added features instead of taking away features. Especially since it's so damn easy to upgrade a HDD for a PS3.

Now Even More Tangible

Been a while since there has been any new news on the upcoming Zune HD. Thanks to a sneaky employee at Best Buy, we now have a release date for the holy PMP. September 15th cannot come any sooner. Sadly its only coming in a 32GB flavor, for now im assuming. Enjoy this epic video of the slick UI and browser.

Its hard enough to clean computers infected thru the internet but with staples techs installing kaspersky clone crap like this were one step closer to 2012.

PvP FTW!

HEY! Sorry for the lack of updates, but like RJ said, we are bringing her back to life. Like he said in the netcast/update we have been playin a lot of games. For me i got back into World Of Warcraft, as you can see in the screenshot above which has ROOTKRP(me) IN 5th PLACE in a 40v40 battle. This post is just a lil something to get me started and back into the groove of posting regularly. I hope to finish editing my MMO life vid/chill.

MW2 NVG's Continued...

I didn't have too much time this morning to post about the details of the Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige" Edition which comes bundled with some BAD ASS MUDDA FUGGIN NIGHT VISION GOGGLES! The Prestige Edition is the top tier bundle of the game, coming in at a hefty $149 but come on, that's a small price to pay to be able to see in the dark when you wakeup for a midnight bathroom run. Something like this would actually justify spending more for a CE of a game. The World in Conflict CE edition kinda had a cool bundle with a piece of the Berlin wall being included, but this is way better. Oh yeah, lamest CE of a game I ever bought was the Splinter Cell: Double Agent CE. The gamestop dude convinced me it was a good buy, I got a translucent red sleeve that made sam fisher look like he was wearing some stupid red NVG's on the box...and an artbook I think, maybe one behind the scenes video. Thanks gamestop dude.

The REAL reason to get MW2!

Awesome. Simply Awesome.

Play SFII: CE In a browser

Hey folks, sorry for lack of posts. Jason is getting serious business done in FFXI and between being busy at work and gaming all night when I get home, posting updates has been kinda hard. Anyways, if you're caught out on the road or if you're pretty bored surfing the webs, here's a working Street Fighter II: CE flash game that was published by Gametap (so you know it's good...?) Plays like it should for the most part, enjoy:

RIP TPB

This week brings more death, this time to one of the most popular torrent sites known on the web, The Pirate Bay. The battle between the creators of TPB and the Swedish Court has been well underway for awhile now, striking a heavy blow to TPB for copyright infringement fine in excess of around $3.6 mil USD. After continually saying they weren't gonna pay the huge fine and take it further down the court system, it looks like all of a sudden they sold off the site to some Swedish software firm called "Global Gaming Factory X" (welcome to the Xander Zone!!) for $7.7 mil USD.

The software firm said that they plan on turning TPB into a legal version of it's former self, hoping to pay the copyright holders for whatever is posted on the site in the future (sounds like it may be subscription based). TPB founders haven't said too much, other than they sold it as a means to help keep the site going. I assume that they either got fed up with the whole thing and caved in, or are planning for the future since they were all sentenced to spend at least 1 year in jail (coupled with the 3.6 mil fine). Either way, TPB as a free source of torrents is effectively killed, RIP TPB.
