Giantbomb explodes...again!

If you're looking for an expansive vidya game website, be sure to check out Giantbomb.com . It was created by some ex-Gamespot editors about a year ago (after the whole Gerstmanngate issue) and it's aimed towards creating a universal gaming database where users can add or edit information regarding to every video game ever created (and if it's not there, you can add it to the site). I know Wikipedia offers pretty much the same thing but Giantbomb is solely devoted to video game information and has more game-centric features on the website. So if you never been there or haven't dropped by in awhile, be sure to check it out and help contribute to the gaming community.

Today some deaf guy handed me a sexy little beast. I'm kinda surprised that someone who'd shell out over 1k on a cpu wouldn't know how to put it together but hey, this just means I can fondle all the parts before he does.

System is an older ibuypower pc with a 8800 ultra.
Memory is corsair 6 gb pc1600 8.8.8.24 1.65v
Cpu is core i7 extreme edition i7965 and mobo is asus rampage 2. The guy even has a killer nic card. I'm so freaking jealous!

You know you reached an all time low when...

Well here we have it folks. The one and only Stephen Gary "Woz" Wozniak. The Co-Founder of Apple Inc. A.K.A everything you own and then some regardless of overpricing. Well as the picture states, Steve is going to be an official contestant on Dancing With The Stars. Yes, Dancing With The Stars, that one with all the washed up celebs try to do the same dance 50 different ways. What im asking myself is "why steve?" I mean the show IS called Dancing With The Stars!? Steve isn't even a B-Rate celebrity! No ones gonna even know who he is. Well i can tell you this much, the whole season is already programmed to be recorded on my DVR. Way to go Apple.

Long Week...That's what she said!

It's been a busy week but that didn't stop me from putting in some game time. I went through some kinda of wargame/sim phase this week and played Theatre of War, Close Combat Shock Force + Marines, ArmA, while sneaking in some Street Fighter 4, Mass Effect, a little Lost and Damned DLC and some weird ass game called Noby Noby Boy. Didn't make any videos for this week but I'm planning on doing something a little special for next week (if time permits).

Jason plowed through The Lost and Damned DLC for GTA IV this weekend and although the voice acting and dialogue were spot on (as usual), I couldn't help but feel that $20 bucks was a little too much to ask for some extra missions, a couple of new weapons/grenades, and some choppers (bikes). To be fair, there's some new Multiplayer content as well but I didn't really get into the online portion of GTA IV. Anyway, we now officially have over 100 fans on our Justin.tv feed so that should be some kind of special accomplishment, right? On the other hand we have over 7K hits on this blog which really just blows my mind. Thanks to all that tuned in for our Game Night's this weekend.

Game Night

So it's Friday, you just finished up on everything you needed to finish up on and now have the rest of the night with nothing left to do, what do you do? You don't know? Well I'll tell you! You're going to catch a playthrough of the latest GTA IV: The Lost and Damned DLC on our JTV feed, that's what! The broadcast will start at 6:00PM and last as long as it takes to finish...unless this content adds more than 6 hours of gameplay. So feel free to jump in and catch some bikers shooting at stuff.

Just got Streetfighter IV after not having played any fighting games since Shaq-Fu, so yeah Im getting the crap kicked outta me right now but at least I played through the game with Bison (after pulling all my hair out on the last boss battle). I'm thinking about ordering a stick or something cause these controllers feel kinda cramped and unprecise, but it depends on if I'm actually going to keep playing this in the long term. Oh yeah, I also got the DLC for GTAIV but haven't given it a run through yet, I'll probably broadcast some of that later on this week so stay tuned.

Work has been slowing down some since last week and I'm finally able to put in some game time again. What have I been playing? For some weird reason I dusted off my old copy of Theatre of War which is a kinda RTS WW2 simulation game...? I dunno but it's definitely not mainstream RTS and there's certain things about it I like, then again that game has some serious problems as well but hey, there's nothing like watchin your squad cut down a group of Nahzees with a .30 cal. Between that, I re-installed. . . *cough*Sims 2*cough* and have been trying to get the hang of the Open for Business expansion, but I always end up making minimal profit and pissing off my customers so I dunno wth Im doing wrong (also, my main guy just caught on fire when arriving at his business...is that a hint from the sim gods?)

Anyway, I see youre calling me out Mike, and I publicly accept! I'll even broadcast it whenever we do it (tomorrow night is good for me, what say you?)

Battlesh!t: 19fookyou3 times in the Pacific long time

I stumbled on some more info for Battlefield: 1943 over at Kotaku, and I have to say I'm totally bummed with what this next title actually is. It's actually a downloadable game only (being only 350MB) and will only have three classes available to choose from which are Infantry, Rifleman, and the Scout. Where are the Medic and Support classes you ask? Well it turns out that they have been removed completely in exchange for a health-regen feature and unlimited ammo...

Excuse me, but the BF series at least tried to incorporate some level of teamwork based gameplay but the way things are setup now seem to turn the game into another standardized FPS clone. The way BF2 had introduced squads, commanders, and the way that classes had relied on each other are completely gone. Now we have some dumbed down FPS with vehicles on classic BF maps. I am pissed.

I loved my BF2, what the fook did DICE do to BF? I can only hope that they have plans for a traditional Battlefield game in the future.

Read post while listening to BF42 theme

So EA just announced their next Battlefield game yesterday titled Battlefield 1943. The game will go back to the harsh times of WW2 (yet again) and was developed on the frostbite engine that bad company was founded (destructible buildings, trees, volumetric smoke and particle fx). Also, BF1943 will be released over multiple platforms for the PC, 360, and PS3. The biggest shock to me however is the fact that the game is only being released with 3 maps, which are Wake, Iwo Jima, and the Guacamole Canal. WTF?

I can only see 2 things happening which would be that the way EA has recently been nickel and diming everything from cheat codes to end game status, would be releasing map packs later on down the road which wed have to buy, or that maybe dice needs more time with the frostbite engine to properly launch a full blown pc title instead of concentrating for a multi plat launch. Either way I cant deny the fact that a little piece of me dies every day as I wait for a new BF title for PC so Im probably going to end up getting this one but I know Im going to hate myself later when EA announces a "Battle of Foy" map pack...

Skate 2 is fun

I have no clue why the player has to be so wide. Anyways Skate 2 is basically like the first one just with a few add-ons, such as getting off your board to take a poop and footplants. Although I did notice that the game is missing a wide variety in customizable features. Well, I'm off to do some more realistic lines. We'll probably make a skate video, but don't hold your breath.
