Hallo-freaking-Ween

Out of all the holidays we have here in the states, this one is probably the most pointless, but hey, it always feels good to celebrate something so Happy Halloween everybody! Not sure what's going down tonight but I'll probably end up broadcasting some super scary footage from whatever scary games I got right now (Dead Space, Resident Evil: Veronica X, no Silent Hill Origins THANK GOD!).

Teacher Fail

Due to the lack of effort for the first 3 years of high school, i have to take senior supplimental instruction for 3 classes....not to mention take P.E as a senior. So for the last 2 weeks i've had a zero thru seventh period. ouch. I finally finish my test in SI and he tells me to come back next week to find out what i got on the test. Next week rolls around and i show up. After about 20 minutes of him looking for my test he tells me he cant find it. My world comes crashing down. 2 weeks of waking up at 5:30 in the morning for this shit. My jaw drops as i look at him. Then he goes on to tell me that hes gonna look for it and if he cant find it he's just gonna give me full credit for the class. SCORE! I strut out the class with a big smile on my face. I deed it. Now if only i can keep up my regular class grades up...

Google Chrome gets Polished

Although I love the speed and overall design of Google's new browser, Chrome, I have to admit that I haven't really used it too much other than the week of it's launch. This was primarily because of the poor Flash support for the browser which would lock up Chrome which only a force quit could solve. That pretty much negated a huge portion of the internets for me, including the beloved elephnat. blog.

Well it looks like Google is addressing this issue with their next patch, among other things including a security flaw and better incognito support, over the next couple o' days. To those who still use the browser, the update is supposed to automatically take place so there is no link to download a patch or whatevs.

English 11 Getow Mah Face!

1 class done, 5 credits completed. I rushed the last 2 today, not sure what my next class will be. Actually I have no clue.

Anyways I'm going to complete this sentence and get outta here because I feel as if everyone is staring behind my back as I type this.

Adventures of RJ: Tale #2

LittleBigPlanet, amazing. Guitar Hero World Tour? Freaking horrible. Gamestop's return/exchange policy? Totally fooked up.

So me and Jason wake up extra early on Sunday (read: 8:30AM) and drive down to Gamestop to pick up Guitar Hero IV. We got it, came back home and hooked everything up and started playing in under 10 minutes. Now you know how you get when you get something new that flashes? We were really psyched about the Guitar and how you could put the pedal anywhere you wanted unlike RB's drums. Anyway we plowed through the menus, forgetting to sync up, and played through the first couple of songs. Then Jason shouts out to me what I totally don't want to hear after dropping $200 on a game. He tells me the red drum pad is not working and lets me try it out. Yeah, he's right, I have to smack the shit out of it just to get it to recognize a hit.

So we pack it up and I drive straight back telling them that the drum set is defective and I'd like to exchange it for another one. This chick, who I think is the manager because she was telling off her employees and had a bitchy attitude, tells me the bundles were supposed to have stickers that say I can't return them to the store and that all exchanges were handled through Activision. She then points to a Rock Band bundle and it has a sticker and shes like there it is, see. Then one of her employees tells her that my game was different and that it was supported by a different company. She tells him off and then tells me that Id have to contact Activision for an exchange, giving me the Playstation support number, not Activision.

Anyway long story short we end up calling corp HQ of Gamestop and they tell us that we can exchange at another store, so we did. Brought home the new one and theres still an issue with the red drum pad, AND the guitar wireless receiver dies after one song...

Stay away from this game.

Maggie's Halloween Costume

LBP Represent!

Looks like our local Gamestop, and many others, are receiving or have received LittleBigPlanet today which means we'll be playing the hell out of this once I get home. I'll try and setup a broadcast around 6PM in case you guys wanna tune in. Oh yeah, our game-a-thon didn't go over too well last night, plus Dead Space is freaky as hell, so we cut it short, but I think only a few people showed up anyway. Sorry to the few that were there.

I already got an idea to make a kinda giant rendition of my house with the chihuahua's chasing you around and sticking an elephnat somewhere, but Im interested in any ideas you guys got for a LBP level. If you got any ideas hit up the shout box or email us at teamelephnat(-AT-)gmail(-DOT-)com .

Left 4 Dead Multiplayer Hands-On

Just read a hands-on review of the multiplayer from Left 4 Dead and thought I had to put it up on the blog. Though the review is quite long I'll instead try my best to summarize it. Probably will be the same length as the review but whatever.

Alright the multiplayer, or versus, consists of a 4v4 combat system. The maps are close quarters with lots of obstacles in your way other than the zombies, such as doors and levels in buildings. You switch sides every round accomplished or failed so that you get to play both as a survivor and a zombie.

Though survivors have no special ability, just whatever weapon you happen to pick up and use from your spawn point which is a safe zone, the zombies, 4 of them, have their own special roles in taking the survivors down.
  • The Boomer - As you can see hes a very large man. He can vomit some nasty stuff on you, such as mutated fetuses, which can blind you, or just fugg up yo visionz son, and anyone around you because it's an aoe, area-of-effect. He can also alert his zombie homies that he has spotted the survivors thus in turn gives the other zombies some Nikes because they run real fast. Hold on let me look over the review. Ok yeah they run with their Nikes. If he dies he explodes and this also does an aoe damage. His role is to distort the survivors sight and alert the other zombies to come help you.
  • The Smoker - I think he mutated on that nicotine sahn! Basically he just uses his tongue to snatch you from 50 feet away, so RUN with them Nike Jordans you got on! I guess his role is just to snatch one of the survivors while his/her teammates are distracted and punch punch kick his prey.
  • The Hunter - This fool got his Nikes a bit early this christmas. He can run fast and climb up buildings, only ones that he's allowed to climb, and "pounce", what Gamespot calls it, the hell outta yous. His role is to attack a survivor while everyone is distracted too I guess.
  • The Tank - Ok basically this dude has a steroid problem. He can lift concrete off the ground and chuck it at you along with cars. He has very high hit points, health, which means that it might take a while for the survivors to bring him down. Now from what I read it happens that even John Rambo can't take this bad boy down himself, it requires the whole squad to kill the tank. Basically he's a bad mofo.

The "classes" of the infected, zombies, are choosed by random which means no moaning about someone hogging any infected zombie dude. If an infected dies they are able to respawn anywhere on the map, anywhere, respawn, anywhere. Respawn. This means throughout the round the survivors are going to take a lot of beatings, the survivors get no respawns.

This can seem a whole one sided but I assure you that it's best to be left this way. Imagine all the chaos you and your squad just went through to reach the end. You feel that gamer pride, hell yeah sahn! The acknowledgement of kicking some infected ass.

As you can see this game requires MASSIVE teamwork. MASSIVE. That's dope. Sahn.

Oh yeah, this old dude's name is really Bill. I jumped up and cheered when I found this out. WOOT!

Uh oh

I just beat Fable 2..

This is trouble for the 24 hour game session that I'm holding. My bad. Fable 2 was just that addicting to beat in 3 days total, total hours are close to 1 day.

I'll try and figure out what to do. But anyways the game is good, the ending sucked though. No spoilers.

The story wasn't really that long and hard, it's just that there's plenty of things to do in the game. Now that I finished the main storyline I'm going to be more focused on the side-quests but not all that much, I just wished the main story was longer.

Just gonna say this right now...

Don't expect alot of posts from Jason for a little while, hes outside his mind with Fable II right now and it looks like its gonna be that way until he finishes it...

Farcry 2 is lookin pretty nice btw

Adventures of RJ: The tale of the G1

If you were following the T-Mobile G1 (the google phone) then you probably already know but for those who didn't, the G1 dropped today. I had made the switch from Helio to T-Mobile just for this phone and I made sure I already had an account ready so I could reserve one the day it came out. I was informed that our T-Mobile store would open up especially early today, 8AM, for the launch of the G1. So I headed on down expecting somewhat of a mediocre line at least but only saw 4 moms waiting for the doors to open, all complaining about their sidekicks/blackberry's.

The clock hit 8:05 and the dudette finally unlocks the door and lets us in. The moms dont really care but I could already feel bad mojo about the place. A manager promptly greeted me with a "cool" what's up and I told him I was here to exchange my phone for the G1. He checks my box and says Im missing that ugly ass green shell for the Sidekick, I asked if he'd just let me pay the difference cause I had lost it awhile back. He plainly tells me no. I asked if there was any way I could purchase a new shell or something so I could just transfer the phone, I mean I did just drop a whole crap load of cash last month so I could make sure I got the G1 on the day it released. He firmly said no and handed me the box back. I sighed and told him that Id go home and see if I could find that stupid green shell.

Anyways I rush home and dig through my boxes/bags/electronics/tables/drawers/bags and finally find the stupid thing that probably only cost 5 bucks sitting behind Jason's T.V. I rushed back to the store and saw the moms walking out with a kind of disheartened look on their face. I didn't really wonder why, I just wanted my phone so I headed back in. The guy checks out my phone and says "so you found it huh? Ok just one sec, an activation specialist can help you" Geez....this guys job was just to stand at the door and greet people in a not so friendly manner? He probably gets paid a decent salary for just doing that, too...anyway I wait patiently behind some guy whos totally psyched about the G1 but he was one of those guys who didnt really know what all the techy features meant but he didnt care, it's a damn Google phone! Im totally with you man!

Anyway he walks out the store without a phone and Im like whats up with that? The lady takes my box and asks if Im an authorized account on the plan. I tell her yes and she kinda looks me over like Im some kid (I get that alot) and she tells me that I need to show her my license. I do, then she tells me to wait cause she didn't know how to transfer my phone. I patiently wait another 5-10 minutes while the boss finally gets off the phone. She then clicks a few times, types some mumbo jumbo in, then smiles and tells me that I can transfer my sidekick for the G1. Yes!!! She then tells me that they didn't have any in stock because they actually couldn't sell the G1 there because its a G2 area and only stores in G3 areas had the phone for sale, but she goes on to tell me that she'll have one delivered to me in 3-5 business days which'll be next week. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

They apologize they couldn't tell me this earlier. My heart sinks through the floor but I let them know its ok, and I finish some paperwork and walk out. First LittleBigPlanet was delayed and now my G1? I guess it is only just another week but cmon, I was totally psyched about getting it today. Oh well, here's to next week.

Game Night - Indigo Prophecy

I'm gonna continue playing some more Indigo Prophecy while Jason plays Fable II, the feed should be up within 5 minutes or so.

Watch live video from elephnat. channel on Justin.tv

Eduardos....

I haven't done a food review in a long time but I just felt compelled to
do one right now after eating at this place. First of all the place is
bumping some old latin or spanish or italian opera sad songs. I can see
they were trying to go for the romantic setting but all this music makes
me feel bad about stabbing my poor little chicken on my plate. Secondly
this is an italian buffet. They had one pasta item, no sauce included.
No sauce. Third the food was mildy warm at best, no heating lamps and
the water underneath the trays wasn't boiling at all. Fourth the chef
looked dirty as hell. This place sucked, don't make the mistake I did.
Spend 8 bucks on food that's at least hot. I give it I hate this place.

Oil Cooled PC

PC getting to warm? Do you find your gaming sessions ending to soon because of over heating? Then maybe this $11,000 computer is for you. Hardcore Computer's 'Reactor' is a gaming PC submerged in oil. Yup, thats right, oil. This PC has only the best hardware in it. The hard drives are the Samsung ssd's. Regular spinning hard drive apparently dont work submerged in oil. This thing will be heaven for people who want to overclock there PC's but there comps cant handle the heat. All i know is that this would be an amazing conversation piece.....now if only i had 11k...

Wal-Mart is kinda wols

While browsing around ye olde Walmart shoppe tronics I saw a pretty old
release calendar from...oh lets say about a year ago. I mean, it is a
walmart and its pretty safe to say they're not really on top of things
when it comes to games but some serious games are coming out, and also
have already came out this year and they have a relic release calendar
still hanging up from last summer? At least they switched out that old
halo 360 from last time I was here.

My face....6 FEET TALL

I made it big!...well at least my face did. A couple of days ago a picture of me made it to the big screen at Times Square in New York.Look! Theres even a picture! its real.not photoshopped or anything. You can do this yourself at http://imapc.lifewithoutwalls.com/

Game Night? or Game-a-whole-day?

I haven't noticed that this week was passing by quite quickly for me. This is great because next week is when lots of enjoyable joy of joyness breaks loose. Many games to get and all of them to play. I'm looking forward to a new mark in history, my history if not anyone else.

Alright, the deal is that RJ wanted me to do a full 24 hour marathon of playing. Not a full 24 hours, to be more precise I get a 2 minute break every 2 hours for various important things like taking a bathroom break.

I'm going to be downing a whole boat load of energy drinks and numerous cases of hot pockets. A whole month of losing calories made in 1 day. Totally worth it.

But that's not it, there's a homecoming dance that I'm going to with some friends this weekend. Off da hewk.

Anyways I gnjdfs, hold on there's a moth in the house.
Ok, It's going to take place on Friday or Saturday, most likely Friday. So this means that I should have a lineup of games? I hope I don't beat any of them under 24 hours.

So to start it off I'm going to play the poopizzles out of Fable II. Wait a sec, looking at the list I only see a couple that I really want to play:

  1. Fable II
  2. LittleBigPlanet
  3. FarCry 2 (maybe)
Guitar Hero World Tour comes out the week after along with Fallout 3.. Well I guess I'll just be playing Fable II then, maybe play some LittleBigPlanet with my bro.

I don't think this is going to be live, but it will be recorded. RJ is going to time-lapse it when it's over.

Okbyez.

wth?

I guess my house is the chill spot for everyone.

.. and I thought my dogs were a killjoy.

I need to train my Elephnat

For all you WoW players out there, todays maintenance patch is through and will mark the way for the last few patches up until the release of the new expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King. This patch paves the way for the November release by introducing the new Talent trees for all the classes as well as adding in some of the games new UI's. Wrath of the Lich King will be a whole new revamp of the World of Warcraft graphicly as well as introducing a new level cap, 80! This is going to be good... i can tell.. !!

Der Vindows

Microsoft is expected to be handing out pre-betas of Windows 7 to devs at WinHEC and PDC soon, and it looks like it's settled on an official name for its next-gen OS -- ahem, Windows 7. Yep, the code name is the real name, which is a first for Windows. According to Mike Nash on the Vista blog, the company went with Windows 7 because it "just makes sense" as the seventh release of Windows, and MS doesn't want to come up with a new "aspirational" name like Vista -- it "doesn't do justice" to the goal of staying "firmly rooted" in the ideas of Vista. Which probably explains why it looks so much the same. Sure, call it whatever you like, just get it out the door on time, okay?

Invasion! High Risk!

RJ told me that he heard on the news of the West Nile Virus attacks in West Palmdale. This is VERY serious, I advise everyone to sleep with sliding doors/windows closed unless you've got a screen protector. I'd still sleep with them closed.

This is very serious guys, if you do not know the West Nile Virus is FATAL.
You can learn some FAQs from this link below:

Be safe everyone!
