BiAHH First Impression

So I eagerly rushed out from work and picked up my pre-order of Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway yesterday. After gazing at the 6" Matt Baker GI Joe with 13 accesories w/ kung fu action me and my bro painfully decided to keep it in it's plastic shrine forever. The CE also came with a tiny ass map of Operation Market Garden, I thought it was going to be like a poster. Anyway, we popped in the disc and we commenced playing (sorry about the broadcast guys, we had it setup but Justin.tv went down like 10 minutes into the game and we couldn't wait for it to come back up).

The intro was great. We were totally into the story and we were happy to see scenes from the previous games remodelled in next-gen glory for the intro / cutscenes. Then we started to notice that the game had a less "authentic" feel than the previous games, but whatever we were shooting dudes in the face and commanding our squads, good fun. Then the game started going crazy on us like a spider on LSD. I don't wanna give any spoilers away but there are some 'solo' esque parts like MOHAA style which should never belong in the BiA series in the first place, you play as a tank and at one point this game you play in a spooky hospital with your screen throwing up quick flashes of a dead person which totally reminded me of F.E.A.R. Keep in mind that this is in a supposedly authentic squad-sim military shooter.

We know how you feel, Matt.

Anyway, I think we're nearing the end of the game, the story is starting to pick up again so hopefully it'll end on a good note.
